Cahuita is the name of the town where the Hotel Jaguar is located; a town with a different taste, one of the most representative of the Caribbean life style. Where Hotel Jaguar is part of the concept.

The people are friendly, their afro-caribbean roots, their Anglophone culture, their music truly autochthon –reggae and calypso- and their Antillean gastronomy. Simply a different culture from the rest of Costa Rica, it is an atmosphere where the flow of life just rules itself with out the stress of the cities. Relaxation, a National Park with one of the biggest coral reefs in Central America, its tropical forests with their amazing biodiversity are the symbol of what the Caribbean is.

The Hotel

The Hotel is located some 43km form Limón and it is 250mts north of the towns soccer field.
Recently there was a change of management which hopes to offers its Clients all the facilities to enjoy this beautiful place, either if it is for fun, relaxation or simple pleasure. We want to give you what you are looking for.

Between the cabins front entrance, and throughout the 65000m2 property, small gardens and forested sections highlight the omnipresent vegetation with a mixture of well known ornamentals and the fabulous tropical fruits, some plantains, caimitos, jaquee, star fruits, breadfruit, mangos, “water apples” and do not forget the coconut palms, of course accompanied by the great wildlife -sloths, agoutis, iguanas, green poison dart frogs, hawks, hummingbirds, butterflies amongst many others- make a walk a nice treat to the senses.

“Playa Negra” or Black Beach -as the locals call it-, it’s about 400m long and offers some nice shade for those who are looking for it.
The surf is nice and it’s considered an important point to the surfers, mostly getting close to full moon.

Rooms

Our rooms are large and comfortable. They all have two Queen Size beds, and a private bathroom. Their high ceilings which help Natural ventilation diminish the need of air conditioning. The red tile floors, next to the wooden louvers add a nice touch to them.

Within the 3 room complexes (31 room’s total) open to our customers, it is the details that our workers have settled into each section of our renewing, sets the difference of their category and there for prices:

1st group: Suites:

The Suites have a minibar, coffee maker and a roof fan, tables and chairs in the terrace.

2nd group: Standards:

The rooms have a floor fan, chairs and a table in the terrace. And represent a good balance between price and quality.

3rd group: Economic

This are the most economical rooms, it does not have many luxurious details. But they do have amongst them a special room that works as a kitchen for those who wish to cook there. It includes a gas stove, a refrigerator with an ice maker, microwave oven, toaster and coffee maker.
Our settings have a large parking area for the comfort of our customers, as well as a 24 hours security service.

Also we offer the free wireless in the restaurant area and can facilitate a notebook to the clients to check e-mails.

Bar-Restaurant

The bar and restaurant area offers a casual ambiance, where the modern European style rules the scene. An eclectic choice of International, Italian, and local Caribbean delicacies like bread fruit, pejibayes, hearts of palm, and akiee, as well as organically grown products like bananas, avocados, oranges, limes, grapefruits, compliment our menu. Many of these helps our staff to perform typical flavours like rondon, pati, rice and beans with coconut milk, amongst others, that enhances the opportunity to really try what Caribbean is all about.
